Light Fighter Course, 28 February - 2 March 2025, Georgia

Join us at AGI in Cusseta, Georgia from 28 February - 2 March 2025, for an immersive 3-day Light Fighter Course designed to equip you with a diverse skill set crucial for target interdiction, reconnaissance, and surveillance (R&S) operations.

The course emphasizes team communication, precision shooting, and the integration of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies such as drones, radios, and software. A key focus is utilizing COTS drones for reconnaissance, surveillance, and kinetic payload delivery. The ATAK system will be our primary command, control, and communication tool, supplemented by Beartooth and other Meshtastic devices.

Students will conduct hands-on practicals as a team, including three culminating exercises that require teamwork, communication, and effective use of COTS equipment to succeed.

Shooting Kit:

• Rifle. Bolt or Semi. 2 MOA or better grouping at 100 yards
• Magnified Optic. 6x minimum with adjustable turrets and/or Mil/MOA reticle. NO HUNTING SCOPES

• Sling

• 3 Magazines

• Shooting Tripod

• Rear Bag

• Cleaning Kit

• Maintenance Kit. Torque wrenches, Allen keys, etc.

• 200 rounds of factory ammunition. NO HAND LOADS

• Laser Range Finder (weapon mounted or handheld)
• Ballistic Calculator (phone app or Kestrel)
• Hearing and Eye Protection

Field Kit:

• Chest Rig or Battle Belt. Able to carry three magazines and a radio at a minimum
• Poncho (camo pattern)
• Boots or similar hiking shoes
• GPS device
• Water Source
• Sniper Veil or similar netting to throw over you when using a drone to block out sun glare
• AA and AAA batteries for your devices
• Pen/Pencil/Paper
• Comfortable clothes (pants, shirt, hat)
• Sunscreen and bug spray
• Rain jacket or snivel gear (Based on weather)
• Rucksack or Backpack

Tech Kit:

• Samsung Phone (Galaxy S20 or newer is recommended) Has to be able to run ATAK

• Pre Paid SIM card for Samsung Phone if not already connected to Cell Network

• Drone (one of the following is acceptable) Mavic Pro 2 , Mavic Pro 2 Zoom, Mavic Mini 2, Mavic Mini 3 Pro, Mavic Mini 4 Pro, Mavic Air 2/ 2S, Mavic Air 3, Mavic 3, Mavic 3T, Autel Evo II / Duel

• Meshtastic Device (one of the following is acceptable) RAK Meshtastic Start Kit, Station G1, LILYGO LoRa T3-S3, HELTEC LoRa V3

• Hand Held Radio: Analog Radio (Baofeng) with Front Panel Programming is required. If using a DMR radio, programming and programming components are on you, and it has to be compatible with Analog radios

• Peltor or similar PTT setup for Radio

• Power bank with appropriate charging cables for your devices

1. This course will require you to move yourself and equipment up to 3 miles over varying terrain. Your physical fitness level needs to be adequate enough to complete the course unassisted.

2. This is NOT a beginners class. It is expected that you have attended a reputable PR1 course such a those taught by: Frank Galli, Modern Day Sniper, etc. Any student unable to group their rifle with 5rds, and demonstrate firearms handling proficiency (Clear, Perform a functions check, Load, Unload) will not be permitted in the course. If you cannot uphold this standard, please attend one of our PR1 courses.
